A Dubai visa on arrival is a visa service provided by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Immigration that you can obtain after landing in Dubai. Visitors must obtain a visa before entering the destination country, but they can do so upon arrival a visa on arrival. This visa is only valid for a short period.

So, after disembarking from your flight, immigration officials stamp your passport with your Dubai Visa on Arrival. The visa is only available to citizens of certain countries. A VOA for Dubai does not require a visa processing time because it is completed while you wait.

Types of Dubai Visa on Arrival:

There are 4 types:

  • A 14-day visa on arrival
  • A 30-day visa on arrival
  • A 90-day visa on arrival
  • 180-day visa on arrival

What are 14, 30, 90, and 180-Day Dubai VOA?

14-Day Dubai Visa on Arrival: The 14-day visa on arrival is only valid for one entry. This means you can only visit Dubai once. The Dubai visa on arrival is valid for 14 days from the date of issue. If you do not exit the country or extend your visa, you will have to pay fine. Your visa is valid for 28 days if you extend your stay.

30-day Dubai Visa on Arrival: The 30 day Visa on Arrival is only valid for one entry. This means that while your visa is valid, you can only enter Dubai once. It is valid for 40 days from the date of issue, 30 days of which are grace days. If you do not exit the country or extend your visa, you may be fined.

If you apply for a visa extension through the Immigration Department, your visa will be valid for another 70 days. Every time you leave and return to the country, a new 30-day Dubai Visa on Arrival is issued. The number of 30-day on-arrival visas issued per person is unlimited.

90-day Dubai Visa on Arrival: A 90-day on-arrival visa allows for multiple entries. This means you can enter Dubai multiple times while your visa is valid. The visa is valid for six months from the date of issuance. The 90-day Visa on Arrival is available to citizens of 48 countries.

180-day Dubai Visa on Arrival: The 180-day on-arrival visa is a multiple-entry visa. This means that as long as your visa is valid, you can enter Dubai multiple times. The visa is valid for six months after it is issued. As a result, you can enter and exit Dubai as many times as you want in 6 months with this visa.

Required documents for Dubai visa on arrival

Your Dubai tourist visa does not require any special documentation (VOA). However, ensure that you have the following:

  • A passport (minimum of 6 months validity)
  • Return flight ticket
  • Cash or credit card to pay the visa fee (if applying for a fee-based visa)

Which countries are eligible?

The countries listed below are eligible for a Dubai visa on arrival, valid for 30 days from the date of arrival:

Among the countries represented are Australia, Brunei, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, New Zealand, Monaco, Vatican City, San Marino, the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Northern Ireland, Singapore, Ukraine, and the United States of America.

The countries listed below are eligible for a Dubai visa on arrival in Dubai, valid for 90 days from the date of entry:

Argentina, Austria, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Kiribati, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Maldives, Malta, Montenegro, Nauru, the Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania

Mexican citizens are issued a visa upon arrival that is valid for 180 days from the date of entry. The ability to extend an arrival visa varies from country to country.

The Process to Obtain a Visa on Arrival:

The procedure for obtaining a visa on arrival is simple. You must go to the Immigration counter in Dubai after disembarking from your flight.

They will help you with the application process, and you will also be require to participate in Biometric procedures. You must provide your fingerprints during the biometric procedure, and the immigration authorities may photograph you.

Following the completion of the biometric procedures, the immigration authorities will stamp your passport with the UAE visa and update it on the ICA and AMER systems. Then you can collect your luggage, exit the airport, and begin your Dubai vacation.

Can I Extend a Dubai visa on Arrival?

Yes, you can get a 30-day Dubai visa! So, you can extend your 30-day visa on arrival for an additional 30 days. While in Dubai, you can extend your On-arrival visa at the Immigration offices. You must extend your visa before your Visa On Arrival runs out.

90 & 180-day VOA: You cannot extend your 90-day or 180-day visa on arrival.
